Summary:
Daredevil wrestler Brad Fraser throws his body around the ring to the cheers of the crowd, but when the lights go dark, he throws it from bed to bed to alleviate the boredom of travel. It all comes crashing down one night at the hands of the resident bad guy, but Brad finds himself rescued by the cool, suave Scott O’Doul, and the two men make a pact based on the illusion of control.
Though their relationship begins as an arrangement of pleasure rather than commitment, over the course of a year on and off the road, Brad finds himself trusting Scott more and more. But Scott plays things close to the chest, and Brad isn’t sure where he stands—until the night Scott nearly pushes him too far.
The Review:
Blue Moon by Rowena Sudbury is a rather unconventional BDSM novella that is compelling and super sexy. Brad Fraser and Scott O’Doul’s relationship is based on trust and their mutual desire for a little kink in their sex life.
A short read at 70 pages, Blue Moon is very well written novella that contains a surprising amount of depth and superb character development. Ms. Sudbury’s writing style is unique and engaging. Brad and Scott’s sex scenes are erotic with a whole lot of kink. While there are BDSM aspects such as bondage and spanking it is not hardcore BDSM.
The wrestling setting adds to the story’s originality, and although I am not a wrestling fan I enjoyed the behind the scenes look at the sport. Brad and Scott’s relationship is realistic and grows slowly over the course of a year. The ending of the book is incredibly romantic and just a little bit magical.
Blue Moon by Rowena Sudbury is a delightful romance with alluring protagonists and a fresh plot. It is the perfect blend of extra steamy sex and tender emotions. Definitely a recommended read for fans of male/male fiction.
I’m adding this to my must have list; it sounds pretty good.

Tracey, it was my first book by Ms. Sudbury, and I really enjoyed it. But what I really liked is it wasn’t your typical BDSM book.
Hi Kathy,
Thanks so much for this fantastic review! To be honest, I was so worried when I saw that Dreamspinner meant to rate the book “BDSM”…because I know it’s not really a BDSM book…and I know that I, myself, don’t understand the BDSM dynamic (which is why I don’t write it). Since the men are wrestlers, I wanted them to be a bit kinky, so I’m glad you saw my intent! I always sit on pins and needles when something new is published…so this was a nice shot in the arm to start with! Thank you!
Rowena
You are very welcome, Ms. Sudbury. The blurb caught my eye, so I didn’t even notice the BDSM/Kink label until I was preparing the review for posting. It’s an excellent story!
