Summary:
Derrick and Trevor used to have an incredibly passionate relationship, full of spontaneity and sizzle. Now that their son is off to college, they want to put their days of routine, vanilla sex behind them and bring back some of that spark.
Realizing that they’re empty-nesters, Trevor begins to notice their age difference. He suddenly feels old and unsure of himself, and isn’t confident Derrick still desires him. When Trevor decides to keep his health issues and gray hairs down there to himself, Derrick is hurt by his partner’s secretive behavior and thinks Trevor must be having an affair.
Nothing could be further from the truth, but Trevor doesn’t know how to communicate his fears to his partner. He desperately wants to reconnect with Derrick and rev up their sex life, but will it be enough to reclaim their marital bliss?

The Review:
KC Burns’ First Time, Forever is a super steamy novella that is sexy, sweet and oh so full of misunderstandings. Derrick and Trevor finally have the house all to themselves. But instead of enjoying their newfound freedom when Luke leaves for college, work and plain old miscommunication conspire to keep this long-married couple apart.
While not usually a fan of the “big misunderstanding” plot device, I was pleasantly surprised to discover it really works in First Time, Forever. Told from both Trevor and Derrick’s perspectives, it is very easy to understand where each man is coming from. While they both have serious doubts about where their relationship is headed, neither Trevor nor Derrick gives up on getting their floundering marriage back on track.
First Time, Forever is a charming and fast-paced read. The characters are vibrant and well-developed. The plot is well executed and realistic. KC Burns’ writing style is engaging and her sex scenes are scorching hot. A beautifully romantic and deliciously sexy ending brings this delightful story to a heartwarming (and sigh worthy) conclusion.
I’m looking forward to reading this book. Thanks for a great review,Kathy.
I’m not a fan of the “big misunderstanding” either but I have to admit this book has me intrigued so I’ll definitely give it a try…thanks Kathy!!!
