For today’s stop on the Ball & Chain blog tour, Abi Roux is answering a few get to know your questions:

Kathy: What book do you recommend everyone should read? Do you have a comfort read?

The Lord of the Rings! That book can open up so many worlds. And my comfort read is either The Three Musketeers, or the entire Amelia Peabody series.

Kathy: What is your guilty pleasure?

Monster hunter shows. I can’t even say I feel guilty when I watch them, but there’s usually something I should be doing that I disregard in favor of these stupid things. I love them so much. Cryptids, ghosts, myths, legends. I love to watch them all.

Kathy: Favorite meal?

Crawfish fettuccine. You have to go to Louisiana to find the best, but if I can track down crawfish in the local grocery store I will make it every night for a week.

Kathy: If you weren’t a writer, what would you be?

The crazy cat lady at the end of the road, probably. I might still be coaching. I quit because of my health, though, so there’s a good chance I’d be sitting at home every day, eating crawfish with my cat and watching monster shows.

Kathy: If you could time travel, what time period would you visit?

The Wild West. I’ve always been obsessed with that era. 1865-1885. I would die in a heartbeat because it wasn’t an awesome time for life expectancy, but I’d still love it.

Summary:

Home from their unexpected deployment, the former members of Marine Force Recon team Sidewinder rejoin their loved ones and try to pick up the pieces of the lives they were forced to leave behind. Ty Grady comes home to Zane Garrett, only to find that everything around him has changed—even the men he went to war with. He barely has time to adjust before his brother, Deuce, asks Ty to be his best man. But that isn’t all Deuce asks Ty to do, and Ty must call for backup to deal with the business issues of Deuce’s future father-in-law.

Nick O’Flaherty and Kelly Abbott join Ty and Zane at the wedding on an island in Scotland, thinking they’re there to assuage Deuce’s paranoia. But when bodies start dropping and boats start sinking, the four men get more involved with the festivities than they’d ever planned to.

With the clock ticking and the killer just as stuck on the isolated island as they are, Ty and Zane must navigate a veritable minefield of family, friends, and foes to stop the whole island from being destroyed.

This is sounding like a very interesting series that you have described. Looks like I have found another author to run their work through my imaginative mind. *Sighs* and to think my TBR pile is so long all ready. At least I’m a quick reader though.

Every time I read an Abi Roux book/ hear Abi talk about Louisiana I get the urge to get on a plane and just visit New Orleans. When there I’ll make sure to get the Crawfish fettuccine.
