Time to check in and see how everyone did with October’s reading challenge to read a sports’s themed book.
I selected two books that featured two different sports and I really enjoyed both of them!
The first book I chose is set in the rodeo world, Tougher in Texas by Kari Lyn Dell. It is the third novel in her fabulous Texas Rodeo series and I was a little skeptical leery of the pairing of feisty, outspoken Shawnee Pickett and quiet, structured Cole Jacobs. I should know better than to doubt Ms. Dell’s judgment because these two are absolutely perfect for each other! I really enjoyed watching them circle around their attraction before giving in to their sizzling hot passion. I absolutely love the Texas Rodeo series and if you’re a fan of western contemporary romances, you are really missing out if you haven’t started reading this one.
Now it’s your turn! Did you complete your challenge? Did you like the book you chose?
I read the hockey anthology Changing on the Fly.
Three authors I had read before, three were new to me.
As with any anthology some you love, some you like and some are just OK. Generally the authors I have read I liked their stories better. One story was written in an odd style (first person narrative?) which I personally wasn’t keen on and another was more of a teaser (perhaps the author ran out of time?).
Overall I liked it, it was nice to see existing characters in Samantha Waylands story. Older characters, out, coming out, different backgrounds are all covered. Some hockey in there, some more than others, and lots of sex!!
Probably averaged 3/3.5
I’ve not read any Santino Hassell books yet but do have Insight on my tbr – will probably add this one too.
I LOVE hockey books! I went to my first (and most likely only) game a couple of weeks ago and LOVED it. Avon Gale has a hockey series that I absolutely love.
Santino Hassell is an amazing author. I have loved every book by him that I have read. I can’t wait to read the next book in The Barons series. I also like The Community series but I’m behind.
