May Reading Challenge: Give an Author a Second Chance

This month’s Reading Challenge is…. Read a book by an author that you have given up on or have not read in a long time because you did not enjoy the last novel you read by them.

My first pick is Kylie Scott’s Dirty. I really liked her Stage Dive series until book four, so I have not read a book by her since April of 2015! Wish me luck!

My next selection is Bonfires by Amy Lane. EVERYBODY seems to love her novels but I just did not click with her writing when I read Mourning Heaven back in 2012 (sheesh, where DOES the time go???). Since the second book in the Bonfires released recently, I decided it is time to give her a second chance.

Now it’s your turn. Is there an author whose books you have stopped reading? If so, this challenge gives you the perfect chance to give them another try! Leave a comment and let us know which book you are going to read this month. We’ll check back in next month and see if you met your challenge and whether or not you enjoyed your selection!

Happy Reading!

I am going to give Iyana Jenna another go.
I read A Home for Jesse in Nov 14 and found it only OK – it was very much ‘told’ to the reader rather than evolving which I wasn’t keen on.
This month I’ll read Fire Triangle which I have had since Jan 17.

I get the Amy Lane thing – she is either big hit or big miss for me but Bonfires was a hit and I have just got the sequel, Crocus.

I’m glad I’m not the only reader who takes a break from an author when a book doesn’t live up expectations.

Great to know that you enjoyed Bonfires! I love the covers of the books in this series!
