Since we are at the start of a new year (goodbye, 2020, HELLO 2021!), January’s Reading Challenge theme is “new”. For this month’s challenge, select a new to you author, crack open a new release, begin a new series, try a new genre, read a novel with a theme of “new beginnings” or pick up a book by a debut author.
I decided to go with a “new to me” author so I am reading The Wife Upstairs by Rachel Hawkins. First of all, I LOVE the cover! Second of all, the SUMMARY! Oh, my gosh. A mysterious new husband. A new wife who becomes obsessed with her husband’s dead wife. Domestic suspense. A new twist on an old classic. SOLD!
Needless to say, I’m looking forward to reading this month’s selection.

I am looking forward to your selection!
Happy Reading!!
If you participated in last month’s challenge, check out the discussion post HERE and let us know if you met your challenge!
I’d be interested to know what you thought of this book. Read the blurb and it seems to be a mash-up of Jane Eyre and Rebecca!
It does, doesn’t it? Check back February 1st to find out my thoughts about it.
I’m going with Crimson Lake by Candice Fox – new to me author, first in series – and another I picked up after reading your review!
I LOVE this series!! Hope you enjoy Crimson Lake.
My Facebook book group has monthly challenges. The book I’ve selected for that group is historical fiction (this month’s genre) written by someone with a local-to-you connection (bonus challenge). I’ll read Sisters of Summit Avenue by Lynn Cullen. She happens to be a new-to-me author, so I’ll participate here as well!
Beautiful cover! I might just have to read this one too. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it.
