October Reading Challenge: Island

October’s Reading Challenge is to read a novel set on an island or with “island” in the title.

I live in the southwestern United States, so I suspect that’s why I LOVE reading books that are set either on an island or along the coast. As I was mulling over this month’s reading challenge topic, I kept gravitating toward an island setting. While I LOVE Australian fiction, I thought I would visit another island. So, I thought I’d go a little to the east and read a book set in New Zealand.

After googling New Zealand mysteries, I found several contenders and I was originally going to go with a book I already own. Because I had to keep looking for future mysteries to read, I completely changed my mind (which I tend to do with reading challenge selections 😀 ). So I finally settled on The Last Time We Spoke by Fiona Sussman.

Barring any dental emergencies, I should be able to complete this month’s challenge *fingers crossed*.

I am looking forward to your selection!
Happy Reading!!

Well if Australia is counting as an island I am going with Dearest Milton James by NR Walker.
I enjoy stories set in Australia – the humour and dialogue is close to British whilst being in an exotic location!!

If you’d like a romance set in New Zealand, I’ve enjoyed Cutting Cords by Meredith Shayne.
