Before I get to the announcement, I wanted to give everyone a head’s up the Winning Wednesday eBook Giveaway and Saturday Series Spotlight & Giveaway will be on hiatus next week and possibly the week after. I am having shoulder and carpal tunnel surgery next Monday (March 7th), so I’ll be taking it easy for the next week or two.
After a lot of thought, I am making a few changes at Book Reviews & More by Kathy.
The best way to sum things up: I am tired. I’m still recovering from my unexpected illness and surgery in January. Now I’m facing a long recovery from shoulder surgery. My energy levels are up and down because of the autoimmune disease I have. Some days, I don’t feel like reading (gasp!) and I just don’t really want to do anything other than stream a show. Other days, I just want to read a book and not write a review.
So, here are the changes that will take affect March 1st:
1. I will be posting four reviews a week for the next several months.
2. I am not going to do blog tours any longer (except the few I already have scheduled). I am instead going to feature books for the following themes: Mystery Monday, Teen Tuesday, Thrifty Thursday and Friday Feature.
3. I will continue with the Winning Wednesday eBook Giveaway. However, some weeks may only have two selections-one traditional romance and one gay romance. I sometimes struggle to find two regular romances to give away each week. It is also getting harder and harder to find gay romances that are not in Kindle Unlimited.
4. I am continuing the Saturday giveaway but I am changing it to the Saturday Spotlight Giveaway. I will attempt to spotlight series, but again, it has become difficult to find series to highlight each week for the giveaway. I will continue to alternate the giveaways between gay couples and man/woman couples.
5. The Sunday post will remain The Week Ahead.
6. The monthly Reading Challenge will continue.
Book Reviews & More by Kathy has been around for ten and a half years and I love what I do. So while I’m reducing my workload, I don’t plan to shut down my website any time soon.
Thank you so sticking with me and I hope you’ll continue to stop by despite the upcoming changes.
(((Gentle hugs))) Kathy I hope all goes well with your surgery and that you make a full and speedy recovery. Take care and all the best! These changes sound good to me! I didn’t realize how long this blog has been around time truly flies. Congrats on ten and a half years!!
Thank you, Timitra. Neither are very serious operations but the recovery time for shoulder surgery is L.O.N.G. I am looking forward to getting on the other side of it! The past 10 years have flown by!
I hope your surgery goes well and you recover fast!
Much appreciated, Wendy! I am already SO over 2022 LOL!
Wow 10 years!
The changes sound good Kathy – health should always come first!
I wish you a successful operation and a speedy recovery and fortitude with the physio!!!
Ten years passed in the blink of an eye!
And thank you very much for your well wishes.
I am dreading the surgery but I know I’ll be glad when it and the physio is over!
Fingers and toes crossed for a successful surgery & quick recovery! Physio is a PITA but the work is so worth it in the end!
Wow! 10 years already? Congrats! The changes actually sound pretty good! 🙂
Thank you, Maya! Physio after shoulder surgery is soo painful but yes, it is worth it to get back to normal. I had the same surgery on the other shoulder a few years ago.
The past 10 years have flown past! I am glad you think the new changes sound good!
