August’s Reading Challenge is to read a novel in a newly discovered series.
While I’ve watched and absolutely love Shetland, it wasn’t until the past couple of weeks I’ve read any of the books in the series the show is based upon. But I love the TV show so much that I just had to finally give the mysteries a chance. And wow, even though the main character is VERY different than the TV show, I quickly worked my through the first five novels in Ann Cleeves’ outstanding series. So for this month’s challenge I am reading book six, Thin Air. I am hoping I’ll find time to read the final two books in the series as well.
And I’ve just got to say if you haven’t watched Shetland, you are missing out on some of the most gorgeous scenery I’ve ever seen (and a fantastic series too)!

Looks like a great book! I really like the Two Rivers series. The Long Call was turned into a series and I loved it!
