Hi, Kathy here with a few of updates.
Y’all might have noticed that I don’t always post the reviews that I have scheduled in The Week Ahead. While I have been fortunate enough to avoid COVID, I do have an autoimmune disease that was well controlled for the past several years. Unfortunately, for the past couple of years, treatment has not been as effective since I am trying difficult medications to find one that works. I have days where I struggle to read so I have gotten behind on my reviews. I am working hard to get back on track but due to various reasons, I have not yet gotten there. So until I am able to get caught up, I am not going to assign a date for the upcoming week’s reviews. I will list them in the order I plan for them to post, but I might have to move a review or two to the following week.
Because I am so far behind on reviews, I do not usually have time to read the book I have selected for the monthly Reading Challenge. I will still post the monthly challenge theme and the discussion post, but until I am caught up with my reviews, I will most likely not meet my monthly challenges š .
Another area where I have struggled in recent months is finding books for the Winning Wednesday eBook Giveaway. While I will continue to strive to give away three books each week, I might only have two books instead of the usual three. Because so many authors now self-publish their books through Kindle Unlimited, there are some weeks where I cannot always find three books book for the weekly contest. LGBTQ books are becoming especially difficult to find. While I will continue to make every attempt to give away three books each week, I am giving a head’s up that might not always be possible.
Please check The Week Ahead every week to check out what reviews I plan to post and the books I will be giving away.
Thank you for your understanding!
Kathy,
We are lucky enough to have you regularly blogging about books so I am sure we are all happy to get reviews when they are done – there is no point putting yourself under more stress.
Suze
Thank you, Suze. Itās been a struggle this year and I appreciate your encouraging words!
Iām sure us readers following your blog donāt mind. The utmost important is your health be it mentally and physically; thereās a lot of people struggling too during this pandemic.
Hang in there, Kathy. I hope you stay safe, healthy and sane. (((virtual hugs)))
Thank you, Didi. Covid restrictions in my state limited medical care so it’s been difficult to get appointments!
(((Tight Hugs))) and much love to you!!! Take your time and stress about it. I hope you find the right combination of meds. Thank you for the heads up! I appreciate you and all that you do!!
Thank you so much, Timitra. I appreciate you taking time to wish me well!
Kathy, it’s all good! Do what you need to do for yourself. That’s what is most important.
Cheers,
Maya
Thank you so much, Maya!
Your health is more important than posting reviews. Look, I get it. I have a blog, too. This happened to me about 7 years ago and when I stopped fretting about getting the reviews up, my health was better and the authors understood.
Thank you, Marika. I appreciate you sharing your experience. It’s encouraging to know I am not the only blogger facing this type of problem.
Dear Kathy,
I always look forward in reading your blog bur your health is the most important thing, so please only do the things you can do and let all the rest be. Stay strong and stay safe.
Thank you so, Angela. I appreciate your kind words and encouragement.
The most important thing is you taking care of yourself, and Iām so glad youāre doing that. Weāll be here when you are and so appreciate everything you do! Take care!
Much appreciated, Carolyn. It’s been a tough year for sure.
Never apologize for taking care of your health. We appreciate all you do for this blog. You rock!
Thank you so much, Joanne! I felt like I need to explain why things have not been running quite as smoothly as usual! I appreciate your support.
