Summary:

College student Coby is being stalked by a young guy and has no idea why…until someone suggests that the stalker may have a crush on him. The idea both excites and terrifies Coby, who is so deep in the closet he can barely manage to think the word “gay” without freaking out.

The Review:

Easily my favorite installment in Erica Pike’s College Fun and Gays series, Little Stalker is a wonderful tale of self-discovery. When Coby finally meets his stalker, he is forced to come to terms with his own sexuality.

In the beginning of Little Stalker, it is difficult to like Coby. He is using women to prove something to himself and he has a pretty serious alcohol problem. He vehemently rejects his friend Ray’s suggestion that Coby is gay, but his reaction to his stalker makes it impossible to keep denying the possibility that Ray is right. Coby has a serious wake-up call that forces him to face his demons head on and make amends to the people he has treated so badly.

With less sex and more emphasis on Coby’s issues, Little Stalker is a more serious addition to the College Fun and Gays series. The plot is well-developed and realistic and Erica Pike does a wonderful job redeeming Coby into a likeable and sympathetic character. Definitely a book that will end up on my keeper shelf and I am looking forward to the final book in the series.

Summary:

Short and scrawny college student Harley Santos has a strange relationship with the guy on the other side of his bedroom wall. For weeks, the two have been masturbating to each other’s voices, but they have never met in person. In fact, Harley doesn’t know which one of the two roommates next door is his wall-mate, but he does know that he’s in love.

When Harley’s roommate Ryan is asked on a date by one of his neighbors, Harley is devastated that his wall-mate mistook Harley for his super-sexy roommate. To help him through his heartache is Tasha Novokov, the other neighbor, who is tall, dark, and impossibly handsome.

When Harley’s affections shift to Tasha, his heartache hits an all time high because Tasha is straight.

The Walls Have Ears is the third of five in a series of short stories. Each story is independent of the others and each covers a deep issue. The Walls Have Ears focuses on the insecurities when taking the first steps into the world of dating.

The Review:

The Walls Have Ears, Erica Pike’s third installment of her College Fun and Gays series, explores the awkwardness and insecurities that often accompany the dreaded first foray into the uncertain dating scene. It is a cute story about a misunderstanding about who exactly Harley Santos has been sharing some very intimate moments with.

I really enjoyed the premise of The Walls Have Ears. While I am not a big fan of stories where the characters have abysmal communication, this plot device works very well with this particular story. I think it gave the protagonists the opportunity to get to know one another as friends before they take their relationship in a more romantic direction.

The two main characters are Harley and Tasha Novokov and for a short story, Ms. Pike does an excellent job with their development. I liked Harley in the beginning but it did not take long for his insecurities and his melodramatic reactions to become more irritating than endearing. He is also overly emotional, immature and extremely prickly. While I understood why he behaved the way he did, I just wanted to shake some sense into him.

What saved the story for me is Tasha Novokov. Although Tasha is the more experienced of the two men, the way the plot plays out, certain events make him hesitant to act on his feelings. His patience with Harley completely won me over.

While the story flowed pretty well, there were a couple of inconsistencies in the plot. Nothing too horrible, but there were some things mentioned early on that were contradicted later in the book. There are also a few minor editing errors, but nothing too serious.

All in all, The Walls Have Ears is a quick and steamy read. I really enjoy Erica Pike’s writing style and her character development is always superb. Of the three books in the College Fun and Gays series, this one is the most light-hearted. I definitely recommend the entire series and I am looking forward to the next story in the series, Little Stalker.

Summary:

When College professor Daniel Corrigan was brutally kicked out of his home after revealing his true sexuality to his wife, he had to make a whole new life for himself. For the first time in two years Daniel’s main heartache isn’t the none-existent relationship with his two kids, but the fact that the grade-A-sex deal with his student Troy Anderson is about to expire. After a whole semester of office fun, Troy has managed to squeeze his way into the core of Daniel’s soul. Daniel, however, is positive he’s nothing more to Troy but a teacher who can modify a grade.

A Grade-A-Sex Deal is the second of five in a series of short stories.

The Review:

Take one jaded professor, one very hot student and an agreement to trade for sex for grades and you have one incredibly hot story. But there is more to Erica Pike’s Grade-A-Sex Deal than just steamy erotic sex. It is also sweet love story between two improbable lovers that somehow manage to work their way into your heart despite their dubious first impressions.

Daniel Corrigan is depressed, cynical and less than enthusiastic about his career as a college instructor. His divorce has left him penniless and his relationship with his kids was destroyed when he came out of the closet. For the past two years, he has easily traded A’s for sex and he does not care if the student is gay or straight.

Troy Anderson is a young student who appears to be sleeping his way through half the college population. But beneath his carefree, irreverent facade lurks a very different person. Someone that Daniel is pleasantly surprised to discover when the semester and their sex for grades deal comes to an end.

Grade-A-Sex Deal is a truly wonderful May/December romance. Erica Pike beautifully redeems both Daniel and Troy into very appealing and likable characters. The secondary storyline with Daniel’s son not only provides substance to the main plot, but it also becomes a defining moment for Daniel.

A delightful addition to Ms. Pike’s College Fun and Gays series that readers won’t want to miss.

Summary:

For weeks, college student Casper has been the victim of sail-by goosing and groping. The problem is that Casper would very much like to get more than groped by those wonderful, big, hot hands. With a journal full of clues, he sets out to discover who his mystery groper is. However, he may be in serious trouble once he discovers the ominous identity, and it’s not because of the light bondage the groper seems to prefer.

Hot Hands is the first of five in a series of short stories. Each story is independent of the others and each covers a deep issue. Hot Hands focuses on the effects of high school bullying for being gay.

The Review:

Erica Pike’s Hot Hands is a quick read that has quite a bit of depth. Following the clues to the identity of his mysterious groper forces Casper to confront the horrible memories of being bullied in high school.

Casper is a fabulous lead character who is well-developed and sympathetic. Instead of being threatened or disgusted by the gropings of a stranger, he is intrigued and determined to uncover his unknown admirer’s identity. He methodically sifts through his suspect list and logically rules out various candidates. The groping escalates into sexual encounters with submissive overtones, and the growing certainty that Hot-Hands might not be a stranger.

Hot Hands is a very thought-provoking story with exceptional character development and a unique storyline. Erica Pike does an excellent job detailing the impact of bullying from both the victim’s and bully’s perspectives. And the revelation of who Hot-Hands is and his role in Casper’s life? It left me feeling as conflicted as it did Casper.

Hot Hands is an all around excellent short story that I highly recommend.
