Audrey Parker was in a horrible place.
She hated her job, her sister was getting married and moving out, but worst of all, she was in love with a total jerk. No matter what she did, every guy she met hurt her. After being brought up from the Assassins’ farm team, the Florida Rays to the Nashville Assassins, Tate hopes he’ll forget everything he has lost. He doesn’t. Each day gets harder to live in a place he doesn’t know. Even being the first rookie goalie to shut out an opposing team three times during the Lord Stanly Cup Finals, he still felt empty. With the loss of his parents and sister still heavy on his heart, Tate isn’t sure how to live like everything is okay.

But when he wakes up beside Audrey Parker, things start to change. She turns his life upside down with her kooky sense of humor and her bright clothing. She is intelligent and beautiful, and for once, he doesn’t feel empty.
Will Audrey be the person to fill the holes in Tate’s heart, making him whole again?
Or will another player ruin everything, leaving him feeling forever like an empty net?

On March 1st, Google is discontinuing Google Friends Connect for non-blogger websites. Well! While no one likes being dumped, life goes on. So I am removing the Google Friend Connect widget. Take that, Google! I’m dumping you before you can dump me!

If you use Google Friends Connect as a way to read my entries in Google Reader, it is very easy to set up the RSS feeds to Book Reviews & More by Kathy. In the META box, click on “entries RSS”. When the “subscribe to this feed” page comes up, use the drop down menu to select “Google”. And you’re all set up!

As for eBook contests, life just got easier for everyone. There’s still a contest form, but if you’ve already filled it out, you don’t have to fill it out again. Life is too short to make things complicated for everyone. Y’all have been loyal followers of my site, and Google Friends Connect or not, you’ll still visit me.

Yep, that’s what I have looked like for the past several days!

I have been having MAJOR server issues, and I know that dealing with my website has been a major pain in the, umm, behind. I have been on the phone with tech support trying to resolve the issue so I appreciate your patience while we hopefully get to the bottom of the problem, and they fix it for good! It appears an intermittent problem so be sure and check back if you are having trouble with the site loading excruciatingly, painfully and headbangingly slow or if you have been receiving the dreaded error screen of death.

I have also had to implement CAPTCHA for comments since I’ve been attacked by spambots despite my spamfighting software. It seems to be working since no spam has made it through today! Ah, a small success in the war on the cyber battles plaguing me, but I’ll take victory wherever I can find it!
