New Year’s tends to be a time of reflection on the past year. A time to make changes and set goals. I am not one to make resolutions. I am a pretty decisive person and once I decide on something, I make it happen.
Now when it comes to reading, I do things a little different. For the past two years, I have participated in the Goodreads reading challenge. In 2011, I set a goal to read 275 books, and I read 283 books. So for 2012, I upped my goal to 300 books. When the year got a little crazy and downright hectic, I had doubts I would make it, but much to my surprise, I not only read 300 books, but I snuck in two extra books :-). And out of those 302 books, I wrote reviews for 243 of them.
For the 2013 Goodreads Reading Challenge, I am hoping to read 325 books. Hopefully I’ll be able to get caught up on a few series than I am behind in and I would also love to finally read some of those novels that have been languishing in my TBR pile forever.

As for my resolution, well – I want to become more fit, graduate from Uni, learn German some more and read more books than in the previous year. I also want to be more active with my blogging. We’ll see how it’ll end in December :).
Thank you for organizing this! 🙂
Best wishes,
Barbara

My resolutions – FOCUS on my weight loss – get my life and house in order – talk about huge, huge tasks – SO that I can get my own library together on Goodreads!
Happy New Year!
I don’t make resolucitons. I can never keep them. That said, I am going to try to spend less money on books and get some of the 500 TBR books off my Kindle. LOL. Wish me luck!

I’m going to try to stop obsessing over small stuff (not working yet, but the year is young).

I am already editing my very first ‘finished’ book and have several already started so my goal for 2013 is to have no less than 8 published books! It’s a promise I’ve made to myself and I’ll be working hard to accomplish it!
Happy New Year!!!

Yes I do. Actually I am downsizing my number of books to read this year because I want to sew more and do some projects I’ve been wanting to do. That means I have to share my free time of book reading with needles and yarn. As always i like to do better at calling my parents and staying in contact with my family.
happy new year!
Happy New Year Kathy!!! I’m taking up the Goodreads challenge for the time this year! I’m setting my goal at 200 books! My only resolution if you can call it that is to take better care of myself!

Do more writing–mainly novels and another nonfiction ghost book–for 2013, plus submitting. Also reading more books and eBooks. Exorcise by more walking, and getting the husband to do it with me. Not to let things get me. And save more than spend.
That’s a lot of books read and reviewed! I’m making a resolution. Not sure if I’m going to write 1000 words a day every day or 500 words a day. I gotta keep it realistic, you know? ^.^ I also want to do more reading this year, but I need to whip my writing into shape, mainly by actually writing something. I was in the worst slump this year, main because of real life issues.
Happy New Year, Kathy ^.^

I find it is best to make resolutions that have a modicum of chance to be kept. So, I resolve to read and enjoy as many books as possible. I’m a follower.
