June Reading Challenge Discussion

June’s Reading Challenge was to read a title with any word that begins with any letter in “JUNE”. Or you can step up the challenge by reading titles that begin with all the letters in “JUNE”.

Justice for Sara by Erica Spindler: 4.5 stars. An interesting mysyery about a woman trying to find out who killed her sister ten years earlier. I enjoyed the characters and the murder investigation was definitely intriguing. The small town setting made for a bit of a claustrophobic read. An excellent plot twist disproved my theory about the killer’s identity.

Unwritten Rules by KD Casey: 4.5 stars. I cannot believe I’ve let this excellent romance languish in my TBR pile! Mostly told in flashbacks, this engaging romance between two baseball catchers is such a wonderful love story. Three years after their relationship abruptly ended, an unexpected reunion at a ballgame raises the possibly of rekindling their romance. But will the same issues that drove them apart prevent them from starting over again?

A much more successful reading month for me, finally!!
I did the spell route :
Jon and Macks’ Terrifying Tree Troubles/AJ Sherwood – I have been enjoying these paranormal series crossing over – the gang is all involved in some very macabre murders and burials
Until We Sort This Out/Mere Rain – not so keen, it was short but Cato too giddy and Roy too sensible for me, not enough substance. OK as a coffee break read
No Surrender/Morgan Brice – I do enjoy this paranormal series, this time murders linked between past and present in a particularly gruesome style
Exiles/Jane Harper – possibly the last Aaron Falk, a psychological thriller in true JH style. And Aaron gets a HEA!

Enjoyed them, but not so much the short story

Thrilled you were able to complete June’s Challenge. Boo for not liking the short story as much as the other 3 books.

    My June:

J – Just as I Am/Cecily Tyson – a very good memoir by an excellent actor!
U – Until There Was You/Kristan Higgins – an earlier work by a favorite author; enjoyable, but her more recent work is better.
N – November 9/Colleen Hoover – a book with many plot twists. I enjoyed it, but parts disturbed me.
E – Esme Cahill Fails Spectacularly/Marie Bostwick – a great read with great characters and an enjoyable ending!

I’ll have to read her memoir. I love Kristan Higgins’ books! Happy to hear you enjoyed it. I like some of Colleen Hoover’s novels and I enjoy a book with plot twists. I absolutely adored Esme Cahill…. It was my favorite of the books I read for June’s challenge.

Happy to see you had a great reading challenge!
