When Diana’s charge disappears, she is forced to seek help from the devil’s lair, and their mutual desire reignites with undeniable ferocity.

Fire is best fought with fire… While DeVere is hell-bent to have her back for keeps, Diana is equally determined to bring him to his knees…by acquiring some sensual secrets of her own.

The Review:

The Devil’s Match by Victoria Vane is the highly anticipated romance between Baroness Diana Palmerston-Wriothesley and Viscount Ludovic “Devil” DeVere. Four years after their ill-fated but incredibly passionate affair, Diana and Ludovic are still fighting their scorching hot attraction for one another. Is there any chance this couple can get past their anger and bitterness and find their happily ever after?

Lady Diana has grown into a much stronger and more self-confident woman throughout the course of The Devil DeVere series. She has finally come into her own and she refuses to settle for empty sexual encounters. Wanting to see what is behind his public facade, she pushes and probes DeVere until he finally reveals all his secrets. Diana is his equal, both sexually and intellectually, and with Ludovic, she finally embraces her long-denied desires.

There are so many layers to Ludovic and up until now, we have just seen a select few. Ludovic plays by his own rules and he is an honorable man who is kind, compassionate and willing to make sacrifices to protect those he cares about. In The Devil’s Match, we learn about his painful past, and we finally understand what turned him into such a cynical, debauched libertine.

The Devil’s Match is my favorite novel in this fabulous series. Victoria Vane’s writing is superb and the plot flows seamlessly. Rich and meticulous attention to detail bring the Georgian era vibrantly to life. The characters are beautifully developed; flawed and imperfect, but always realistic and engaging.

An absolutely delightful addition to The Devil DeVere series that fans of historical romances are sure to love.

A Wild Night’s Bride, a sexy, rollicking Georgian romp!

The Review:

Brimming with humor and devilishly engaging characters, Victoria Vane’s A Wild Night’s Bride is a fast-paced historical romance that is delightfully steamy. Sir Edward “Ned” Chambers, Viscount Ludovic DeVere, and Pheobe Scott embark on a lusty wager that could get them beheaded if they are caught frolicking in the King of England’s bed.

A Wild Night’s Bride is a beautifully written novella with well-developed and entertaining characters. Phoebe Scott is an impoverished and struggling actress whose discovery she needs a benefactor to further her acting career leads her to the irrepressibly charming Viscount Ludovic DeVere and his grieving widower friend Sir Edward “Ned” Chambers. DeVere is a dissolute rake whose boredom leads him to agree to the madcap and completely insane bet to take a woman of pleasure in the King’s bed. But the plan goes awry when Ned cannot resist his attraction to the lovely Phoebe. Will the trio escape the King’s palace undetected?

Victoria Vane brings her readers another well-researched and amusing love story set in the Georgian period. The plot is unique and well-executed and the dialogue is witty and authentic. The sex scenes are erotic and sinfully sexy. Ms. Vane’s character development is flawless as she brings Phoebe, Ned and DeVere brilliantly to life.

The first installment in the Devil DeVere series, A Wild Night’s Bride is a sensual read that is sure to delight fans who enjoy love at first sight romances. The fabulous epilogue will leave readers eagerly anticipating the future books in this exciting new series.

MY BEST VALENTINE’S GIFT EVER by Victoria Vane

Early in 1994, my husband and I were really struggling. We were in our early thirties, had already been married eleven years, his family business had recently gone under, I was working part-time while going to school full- time, and raising our two year old son. In a nut shell we were financially, emotionally, and even physically exhausted. Needless to say, stifled by the stress of daily living, our once burning flame of passion had dwindled to a mere flicker and was in grave danger of fizzling out altogether.

With Valentine’s Day approaching, I found myself desperate to do anything to “bring back some loving feeling” in our marriage. Given our financial straits, a romantic weekend getaway was completely out of the question, and even night out on the town was cause for hesitation given both the expense and the difficulty of finding a trustworthy babysitter.

Convincing my Mom to take our son for the night, I decided to plan a romantic evening right at home— an intimate dinner on the back patio with stars, soft music, and candlelight. While neither of us can now remember what was actually on the menu, we both still vividly recall my husband’s reaction when I greeted him at the door in sexy lingerie. The chocolates and flowers he had brought home, and even the dinner were quickly forgotten when we snuffed all the lights and made love on patio. It was incredibly romantic, more than a little illicit, and certainly served to rekindle the romance. We have now been married twenty-nine years and are still going strong.

As for the Valentine’s present of 1994, it arrived a bit later, thirty-nine weeks later to be precise, with the birth of our second son, Brandon!

A lover of history and deeply romantic stories, Victoria combines these elements to craft romantic historical novels and novellas for a mature reading audience. Her writing influences are Georgette Heyer for fabulous witty dialogue and over the top characters, Robin Schone , Sylvia Day, and Charlotte Featherstone for beautifully crafted prose in stories with deep sensuality, and Lila DiPasqua for creative vision in melding history with eroticism. Ms. Vane also writes critically acclaimed romantic historical fiction as Emery Lee.

The Review:

A Breach of Promise by Victoria Vane is a short but very sexy historical romance. Following a six year engagement with no wedding in sight, Lydia Trent’s attempt to break off her engagement to Marcus Russell is met with surprising results.

A Breach of Promise is a well-written novella with excellent character development. Lydia Trent is a delightful young woman who wants more than an arranged marriage of convenience to an indifferent husband. Marcus Russell is shocked to discover his meek and biddable fiancée is actually a well-educated woman who is his equal in every way. Much to his dismay, Marcus discovers it is going to take more than charm and sexual compatibility to convince Lydia to marry him.

A Breach of Promise is a romance with a great deal of substance. The plot is marvelously executed and the storyline is fresh and original. The historical details add to the story’s authenticity and enjoyment. The sexual chemistry between Marcus and Lydia is explosive and their sex scenes are exquisitely decadent and sensual.

Victoria Vane quickly engages her readers in A Breach of Promise with likable characters, witty dialogue and deliciously steamy sex scenes. An entertaining epilogue beautifully wraps up Marcus and Lydia’s charming love story.

Definitely a recommended read for fans of historical erotic romance.
